Q: How long is each piano or voice lesson?

A: The standard lesson time is 30 minutes. However, special arrangements may be made for students requiring more lesson time.

Q: What is the cost per lesson?

A: Lesson fee: $15 per ½ hour lesson.
Payment for all lessons that are to be given every month is due at the beginning of that month. You will also be responsible to pay for any books/materials that are necessary for your child’s weekly lessons.

Q: Can I reschedule a lesson?

A: Lessons cancelled by the student due to a schedule conflict require at least 24 hours notice.

Notification is requested as soon as possible if a lesson needs to be cancelled by the student due to sickness or emergencies. I will work with you on rescheduling these lessons on a case-by-case basis.

Up to two make-up lessons will be given per month. Any missed lessons beyond this amount will not be made up or refunded unless a previous arrangement with the instructor has been made (due to family vacation, school trips, etc.). Missing more than two lessons per month is very detrimental to a student’s progress and warrants an evaluation of a student’s schedule and ability to attend lessons regularly. In a case of frequent lesson absences, a student can continue lessons for a probationary period, and I will discuss a more beneficial lesson time or the discontinuation of lessons.

Q: Can I meet the teacher before I register?

A: Yes. It is important to ensure a "good fit" with a teacher before beginning lessons.

Q: Do I have to register for a whole year?

A: For the 2007-2008 academic year, you are only required to commit to a month of lessons at a time.

Q: What is the purpose of the tuition deposit?

A: Should you choose to register for lessons, you are reserving a specific lesson time slot. Your deposit ensures that that time slot will be kept open for you until you begin lessons for the month.

Q: When can I register?

A: Registration is open year round.
